Movie Review #3: Hidden Figures

I just recently went to see the movie Hidden Figures in theater, and let me just tell you, it was amazing! It was really enlightening to me.

Hidden Figures is a historical movie based on a true story about three young African-American women with amazing minds. These women were a crucial part of NASA’s plan to let an American astronaut successfully complete a full orbit of the Earth. These women, Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughn, and Mary Jackson also played a big role in the fight against racism and sexism in the 1960’s.

This story is very inspirational and enlightening. I was so surprised to find out how important these women were in NASA’s work. It is actually really sad that they weren’t recognized for their work until now just because of the color of their skin and their gender. It makes me wonder who else was overlooked because of these reasons.
